WATER

Water is a clear, tasteless and nearly odourless liquid which is absolutely essential to life. Water does not have calories.

The Functions of Water :
  • Cushions tissues.
  • Lubricates joints.
  • Medium for all body fluids including blood, urine, perspiration, digestive juices and the lymph.
  • Participates in many normal biochemical reactions.
  • Regulates the body`s internal temperature.
  • Transports nutrients, oxygen, carbon dioxide and wastes.

The Sources of Water can be from :
  • Fruits.
  • Juices.
  • Milk.
  • Plain water.
  • Vegetables.
  • etc.

For good health the intake recommended for adults should be six (6) to eight (8) glasses of water everyday. Deficiency in water  intake will cause  loss of body water poses significant health risks and loss of body water  may result in death.
